Sara Nelson is a graduate student in the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her interests lie in the intersection of reproductive health, reproductive justice, and mental health. She is fulfilling her internship MSW degree requirement with REAL, with Dr. Laura Swan as her primary mentor. In her role as a Graduate Research Assistant at REAL, she will primarily be supporting Dr. Swan’s research on coercion in contraceptive care. Sara will additionally support REAL’s diverse portfolio of research.
Sara has a BA in communications from the University of Iowa and comes to REAL with a background in marketing and communications.
What do you collect?
I collect houseplants. I currently have about 20 different plants and am always on the hunt for more.
What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
In my free time, you can almost always find me reading. Or adding books to my ever-growing TBR.
What is your favorite thing to nerd out about?
Plants, books, and reality TV.
