Lisa Oyolu (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Educational Policy Studies department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lisa is a qualitative researcher who conducts asset-based research on wellbeing and out-of-school experiences for youth with marginalized identities. Her work explores how young people make sense of their lives and assert their agency as they navigate the world around them. She is interested in participatory research with youth, their acquisition of policy literacy, and the broader implications for their well-being. At REAL, Lisa is on the research team for the Wisconsin Youth project.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Grinnell College and a Master of Arts in Educational Policy Studies from UW-Madison.
What is your favorite thing to do when you visit a new city? I love going to museums! It does not matter whether they are art, history, science, or some interesting combination of all of the above.
What is a winter hack you swear by? When it gets cold and dreary outdoors, you might find me warming up at a botanical garden while I hang out with tropical plants! 🌺
